果香肉桂
Year: 2022
Origin: Baicaoyan, Wuyi Mountain, Fujian
Cultivar: Rougui
Processing: Medium roast, Guoxiang style
Brewing Recommendation:
Gongfu (high ratio): 1:12–1:16 → 5–6.7g / 80ml, 95–100°C
Grandpa Style (low ratio): 1:30–1:50 → 5–8g / 250ml, 95–100°C
At a high ratio, it brews a concentrated infusion with depth and clarity. At a lower ratio, the leaves open gradually, revealing evolving sweetness and a long, mineral finish.
What is Yancha?
Yancha (rock tea) is a category of oolong from Wuyi Mountain, Fujian. It is defined by a combination of floral or fruity aromatics and a distinct mineral character known as yanyun (岩韵), or “rock rhythm.” This minerality gives the tea depth, structure, and a long-lasting finish.
Wuyi Mountain – The Heart of Yancha
Wuyi Mountain's UNESCO-protected cliffs and mineral-rich soil create the ideal conditions for producing some of China’s finest teas. The best yancha comes from Zhengyan (正岩), the core terroir where tea plants grow within the mountain’s rocky crevices, absorbing the unique minerals that define their flavor.
What is Zhengyan?
Compared to Banyan (半岩) and Zhoucha (洲茶), Zhengyan teas have deeper minerality, greater complexity, and stronger aging potential.
Guoxiang Roasting Style
Guoxiang roasting style enhances the tea’s natural fruit notes while preserving its minerality. The medium roast creates a structured, full-bodied tea with a layered and balanced profile.
